Lafayette Partners In Education Executive Director
Lafayette Partners in Education (LPIE) is a community-based education foundation run by parent volunteers working to enhance and expand the educational opportunities for students in Lafayette’s six public schools: Burton Valley, Happy Valley, Lafayette and Springhill Elementary Schools, Stanley Middle School and Acalanes High School. Since its founding in 1980, LPIE has provided more than $38 million in funding to support curriculum and programming for Lafayette students. LPIE’s fundraising goal for the 2019-2020 school year is $4.3 million, and the organization’s overall budget for this year is $4.5 million.
The Executive Director (ED) is the management professional for LPIE and has overall strategic and operational responsibility for LPIE’s execution of its mission. Under the direction of the President and Board of Directors (Board), the ED is responsible for overseeing all fundraising, as well as the administration, staffing, programs, communications and long-range planning of the organization. Other key duties include budgeting, marketing, community outreach, constituency building and event management. The ED will be a self-starter thoroughly committed to and enthusiastic about LPIE’s mission and who will continue to grow and innovate the foundation.
In collaboration with the Board and our partner school districts, set and reach annual financial goals and manage budget (current 2019-20 fundraising goal is $4.3 million)
Effectively collaborate and build consensus with diverse stakeholder groups
Write and produce a variety of communication materials including marketing and public relations
Manage daily office operations & personnel (4 employees), including contract employees (60 teacher instructors)
Oversee the production of all LPIE community and fundraising events
● 5+ years demonstrated success with fundraising campaigns
● Highly organized and self-motivated with exceptional attention to detail
● Strategic thinker
● Ability to remain focused on multiple moving projects
● Education – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
● Experience managing office and staff
● Experience working with volunteer board
● Technologically proficient and familiar with fundraising management software
● Available for evening and weekend events as necessary (2-3 per month)
