The LPIE Endowment is a continuing and sustainable funding source that will expand and enhance the quality of public education in Lafayette, now and for generations to come.

Unlike state funding, the Endowment is permanent and locally controlled — built to grow and support our schools for generations.

Over the last 40 years, Lafayette’s public schools have become some of the highest rated in the state, thanks in large part to our community’s support of LPIE and other local funding sources. However, the unreliability of state funding year after year makes it increasingly challenging to sustain the robust education that every student deserves.

The Endowment doesn't replace annual giving. It lets our schools think big.

LPIE's Annual Giving Campaign funds what students experience every day: teachers, aides, electives, art, music, science, and wellness. The Endowment works differently. It is held permanently and invested, and each year a portion of its earnings funds what our schools have never been able to try: new initiatives, proven programs expanded to every campus, and once-in-a-generation projects. The ultimate goal is for the endowment to grow so that its annual return gives our schools a resource that state funding cycles can't touch. The LPIE Endowment will:

1. Create a permanent, self-sustaining revenue source that grows year after year and is never spent down to zero.

2. Provide the flexibility to strategically respond to emergent challenges, new possibilities, and innovative programs in our public schools.

3. Strengthen the long-term stability of public education in Lafayette, alongside the annual giving that powers today's classrooms.
